Prices for solar and wind energy are reviewed – ERE launches procedures for setting the price for energy produced from waste
Recent developments in the market of energy production from solar, wind, but also from waste seem to have forced the Energy Regulatory Authority to initiate procedures for reviewing the purchase price of energy produced by small plants.
In the decision, the ERE specifies that it has requested information regarding the entities for which the latter has issued prior authorization and final approval for the construction of works for the production of electricity from small renewable sources from the sun and wind; as well as small generators with renewable source from the biodegradable part of solid waste, which utilize industrial, urban and rural waste.
This information will be used to evaluate and review the data needed to calculate prices for the technologies in question, based on the provisions of applicable law. Currently the price for power generation plants from photovoltaic plants, with installed power up to 2 MW is 100 euros / mwh, a value that prompted many investors to turn a blind eye to the production of electricity from the sun.
