Public investments in 11 months far better than expected: ALL 12bln more than in 2016

Public investment is one of the most important items in the state budget.

But considering the official statistics of the Ministry of Finance, it is noticed that for the 11-month period the realization of these investments is at an unprecedented level, namely at approximately 70% of annual planning.

Referring to the data of fiscal indicators for this period, capital expenditures represent a realization of about ALL 51.3 billion .

Compared with the same period of 2016, this item is about 12 billion ALL more.

According to these data, the realization through domestic funding is in the value of ALL 31.6 billion, while foreign-funded investments for this period amount to All 19.2 billion.

Amendments to the law on the state budget have led to good governance of public finances.

This is because the failure to realize public investment in recent years has been one of the problems of managing the state budget.

For several consecutive years, the finance ministry has been obliged to use at the end of the year letters of credit as a financial instrument to make capital expenditures possible.

But even though 2017 was a year that corresponded to parliamentary elections, the so-called “electoral investments” were not felt much.
