Rama 2: Two super-ministries established

Together with the shrinking in 11 ministries, what is striking in the Rama 2 Government is the establishment of two super-ministries.

They are the Ministry of Finance, Economy and Labor, headed by Arben Ahmetaj, and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure headed by Damian Gjiknuri.

Both of them were among the most successful ministers of the Government Rama 1.

Ahmetaj put an end to the ongoing budget hole through a difficult reform against informality, while Gjiknuri put an end to the phenomenon of non-payment of energy bills, which also pulled the energy sector out of the prolonged crisis.

Arben Ahmeti will lead for the next four years the former Ministry of Finance, headed by Ahmetaj himself, the former Ministry of Economy, until now under Milva Ekonomi, and the former Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs headed first by Erion Veliaj and recently by Blendi Klosi.

The second super-minister is Damian Gjiknuri, and will continue to run the energy ministry, but will also have one of the most important ministries in the country, that of public infrastructure.
