Recommendation to open accession talks, a result of joint work: EU’s Mogherini visits Tirana

After receiving the recommendation for opening accession negotiations with the EU, Prime Minister Rama, along with the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, stressed that the joint work should continue, deepening reforms and maintaining them in all sectors that are key to the enlargement process.

PM Rama stated that a new chapter has now opened, which has to be written by all sides.

The prime minister invited the opposition to join what he called “the red and black team” to prevent the country from sliding into any unexpected situation.

The positive recommendation came as a result of collective work, Mogherini said, adding that Albania must meet the key conditions, as the enlargement process relies on merit.
