Rent revenues mark positive year as prices in the international market rise
One of the items with positive results in the state budget is that of mineral rent.
According to official data published by the Ministry of Finance, it results that the revenues from the mining rent in export were realized at the value of ALL 2.1 billion, 4% or 82 million ALL more than the plan.
According to the analysis of the finance experts, the main impact has been the increase of the price of minerals in the international market and the increase of the quantity of exported minerals by 12% compared to January-November 2016.
Mining rent is paid by any natural or legal person who is licensed and/or operates in the mining industry, according to a contractual relationship with the public entity for the mineral resources from/over/and the underground territory of the Republic of Albania.
Mineral rent is tax as a percentage of the total value of the wholesale product.
In case the products are sold domestically, the local offices of the tax authority are entitled to collect this rent.
In the case of export of mining products, the rent is paid at the time of making the export declaration and are the customs branches in the districts charged for collecting this rent.
25 percent of the revenues from the mining rent go to the local government where the export activity takes place.
