Roaming with Kosovo – The tariff cut confirms on 15th June
The Governing Council of the Electronic Communications Authority held on a joint meeting with the Kosovo counterpart institution, ARKEP and the latest details on the gradual reduction of roaming tariffs between the two countries were discussed. The two authorities confirmed that the first phase of tariff reduction will start on June 15th. According to the official announcement, during the meeting was discussed about the benefits that the citizens of both countries will have from reducing to the complete lifting of tariffs for roaming services.
From 15 June, the roaming tariff between Albania and Kosovo will be ALL 28.5 per minute of outgoing calls, ALL 6 per minute for incoming calls, ALL 9 for a written message and ALL 26.4 per megabyte of Internet. Since 2021, it is foreseen that all roaming tariffs between the two countries are completely eliminated and mobile telephony users in Albania and Kosovo will pay roaming tariffs the same as those that pay domestically.
The same path will be followed with other countries in the region, but the tariff cut in this case is expected to come into force after July 1 this year, according to the agreement that the six countries signed on April 4 in Belgrade. Meanwhile, the process with Kosovo is a bit more advanced, following the agreement that the two governments signed in November last year in Peja.
