Second half of 2017 will see 50 mln euro invested in power system: WB report
The World Bank has reviewed a project for the energy sector that it has implemented along with the Albanian government, known as Recovery Plan.
In general, the indicators have been positively assessed, while a revised draft will be passed on to the government in May to reflect the needed changes.
The World Bank report makes an overall balance of the funds spent on investments and the funds that are expected to be procured in the near future.
“The project management and implementation unit have made several announcements on key procurement packages with the exception of two substations of high and medium voltage in the area of Kombinat, Tirana. Contracts amounting to 46 million euro were also signed and these contracts are related to medium and low voltage cables, equipment, billing system, metering, distribution and transmission stations as well as meters dedicated to the transmission system.”
“The distribution of materials is underway and OSHEE and OST will conclude contracts for civil works and installations during the summer of 2017. The remaining 50 million will be procured in the second half of 2017,” writes the report.
The energy project is one of the largest that Albanian government has been awarded and it totals an amount of $ 150 million.
