Serbia and Albania relations/ Bushati: Potential in terms of tourism development
“The relations between Serbia and Albania are considered normal between the two progressive neighbors. Relationships that have lowers and controversial spirits but are still fragile relationships that can be questioned by an incident”. This is how Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati said during the activity “Serbs and Albanians-In which direction?”
The relationship between the two countries is described as dynamic and potential in terms of development in the tourism sector. “They are dynamic relationships with unexplored potential, as recent data show that there is a positive spirit in terms of tourism sector development, where more and more Serbs consider Albania as a tourist destination.” Referring to the Kosovo issue, Bushati said that the process of normalization should pave the way for the reconciliation process between Albanians and Serbs.
“When talking about the Albanian-Serbian relationship, or Albania-Serbia it is very difficult to ignore Kosovo. The process of normalization is a very difficult process between Serbia and Kosovo, which takes place in the mediation of the High Representative of the EU Foreign Policy, Mogherini, with US support, is not a process that can be replaced by one a good relationship between Albania and Serbia, but it can only be supplemented by a better relationship between Albania and Serbia”- said Bushati
Bushati also stressed that the relations between the two countries are in progress, because mobility programs are being implemented by also breathing in the concept of interconnection within the Berlin Process, where the two main arteries of the interconnection program have the main axes of Albania and Serbia.
