Shefqet Ndroqi University Hospital opens tender for annihilation of hospital waste
Hospital waste become a risk for the community if they are not disposed of according to established procedures and standards.
In recent years, many of the companies that have won the relevant tenders for the disposal of hospital waste have not adhered to standards and have resorted to methods such as throwing them by the rivers or burying them near residential areas.
This has made hospitals and health centers more cautious with the selection of companies dealing with hospital waste treatment.
For 2018, Shefqet Ndroqi University Hospital will use over ALL 3.3 million without VAT for annihilating hazardous hospital and anatomical waste.
With this financial value, this hospital will annihilate in 2018 about 3800 kg of sharp residues such as plungers, ampoules, scalpels, glass bottles, etc.
As far as plastic waste is concerned, approximately 3300 kg of syringes, serum bottles, tubes and catheters will be destroyed.
According to the forecasts of this hospitals, during 2018 will be destroyed about 870 kg of anatomical remains as well as about 700 kg of gauze, cotton, etc.
For this purpose, the University Hospital Shefqet Ndroqi announces the commission of a tender on December 28th which will determine the winning company that will deal with the treatment of hospital waste.
According to contract specifications, the winning company will be responsible for annihilating hazardous hospital waste during all the year.
