Switzerland donates 8.2 mln francs for Albanian youth employment
8.2 million Swiss francs is the value of the project that will support job creation and youth employment in Albania.
On 25 October, RiisiAlbania from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) launched the second phase of this project.
“This second phase will focus more on cooperation with the private sector to create more jobs, to mobilize the Albanian diaspora, and to include more people from the vulnerable strata of the population as beneficiaries. I feel privileged that the Swiss cooperation program with Albania has devoted a good part to vocational education, employment and private sector development,” said Swiss Ambassador Christoph Graf.
During the first phase, RisiAlbania managed to create over 900 jobs and also enabled over 5,000 young women and teenagers to find work.
Youth employment relies mainly on three sectors: Agro-processing, Tourism and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), as these are the most promising sectors for youth employment.
