Tax on small business to remain zero, but they will be placed under VAT regime: PM Rama
The small business tax will remain zero. This was confirmed by Prime Minister Rama during a meeting with citizens in Fier.
However, Rama added that within the new phase of anti-informal action, small businesses cannot escape the introduction of the Value Added Tax regime.
“First, we will have more financial resources available as a result of fiscal policies that will continue to be based on the principle of prudence of taxation and in promoting private investment in priority sectors.”
“On the other hand, the fight against informality enters a new phase. This new chapter of the fight against informality has just begun in order to lead an uncompromising battle, but in function of the fight against informality, and I want to emphasize that we will include all subjects, even small ones, in the VAT regime.”
“That is, we have read news that we will increase the tax for small business. This is not true. We have made zero the tax on small business and that will continue to be zero,” PM Rama said.
According to the prime minister, the inclusion of small businesses in the VAT regime will also serve to the fight against tax evasion of large businesses and will eliminate any form of unfair competition.
