Taxes: Increase of turnover by 11% and employment by 13%
The growth of registered turnover in tourist areas in Albania, has been around 11% and 13% increase in employment. These are the declared results by tax administrations in closing the sectoral plan implementation in this sector.
According to official data of the General Directory of Taxation, 9,486 inspections in territories were conducted in total and 3,500 different violations were found. Regarding businesses that employed undeclared employees, 451 subjects were found to be violated and 296 taxpayers were found to be unregistered.
Another point where the tax action was focused on tourist areas during the summer season was the collection of arrears. Tax administrations suggest that ALL 79.4 million of arrears were collected from 319 taxpayers who have replied to the obligation to repay the debts.
As far as VAT is concerned in the tourism sector, it is estimated that the turnover with VAT has increased by 12% and 16% has increased VAT payable. The taxes received from tax administrations, among other things, have also focused on the education and information of subjects that perform activities in these areas.
