The businesses “turn off” the lights – Instat: They reduced by 5% the energy consumption of industry, transport and public services
Businesses have spent less electricity. According to the latest report of the Institute of Statistics on the balance of electricity, the use of electricity by consumers has decreased by almost 2%, in the period July – September 2020, compared to the same period of 2019.
However, according to this report, the greatest impact on reducing electricity use has come from non-household consumers, which include the sectors of industry, transport, agriculture, or public services.
Electricity consumption from this target group has decreased by 5.1%, while the increase by 2.5% of consumption in the third quarter is attributed to households.
On the other hand, in terms of the overall balance of Instat, available electricity decreased by 2.5%, compared to July – September 2019.
