The crisis in the flight market – Decrease is registered in the number of passengers
July remained a difficult month for the air market due to the situation created by COVID-19. Official data from Mother Teresa International Airport and reported by the Civil Aviation Authority show that 151,677 passengers traveled through TIA during July, of which 26,881 were passengers on Charter flights. This figure is significantly lower, if we compare it with July last year, where 385,388 passengers were reported. Practically, the policies of many states to stop the movement of citizens reflect a decrease in the number of passengers by 233,711.
Meanwhile, despite the contraction of the market there are some companies that have dominated flights. More specifically, based on the above data, the company “Wizz Air” owned the market with 33% of the total and a number of 149,488 passengers. Meanwhile, behind it are charter flights, which own 18% of the market. In third place is the Italian company Blue Panorama, which owns 13% of the total flight market, while the 2 companies with Albanian capital, which are Albawings and Air Albania own the market with 10% and 9%.
