The increasing of Education budget – ALL 39 billion for 2019

The budget for the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth results in a slight increase for 2019.

Next year, the budget of this ministry will increase by ALL 1 billion and in total it is estimated at ALL 39 billion from 38 billion in 2018. The overwhelming share of spending, as well as for 2018, next year includes basic education, including pre-school education with ALL 22 billion, followed by university education by ALL 7.4 billion and the secondary one by ALL 7.2 billion.

The development of Sports and Youth and science are the least privileged sectors in terms of the budget for next year for which the lowest funding levels are allocated, up to 500 million ALL for Sport and Youth and 620 million ALL for Science. What is noticed is that year-to-year budget growth for education has been among the lowest compared to other ministries. In 2017 the budget was ALL 34 billion, ALL 38 billion in 2018, and ALL 39 billion in 2019. The funds for each sector result to have changed with a negligible amount which indicates that for 2019 the budget for this ministry does not promise much.
