The international competition for Vlora Airport will soon open! It was suspended in March
The international competition for the new Vlora Airport is expected to be unlocked next week. The news was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama at the opening ceremony of the international competition for the construction of the Karavasta photovoltaic park.
The situation created by the spread of the new coronavirus, seems to have affected the international competition for the construction of Vlora airport. After the previous 2 postponements, in March of this year the competition was suspended, while it was not known when it would be reopened for the interested companies.
Vlora Airport is one of the most important infrastructure projects, through which the government aims to influence the reduction of ticket prices.
The construction is expected to be carried out through a public-private partnership, where initially the winning company will have to carry out the investment, while it will have the right to operate for a period of 35 years.
