Tirana Bank becomes newest Albanian Securities Exchange ALSE member
On Tuesday, May 29, 2018, Tirana Bank became the newest member of ALSE as it officially began trading on the securities trading session of the Albanian Securities Exchange.
Tirana Bank is the first bank licensed by the FSA to trade Government securities according to the decision no. 1 date 21.05.2010.
Subsequently, Tirana Bank became a member of ALSE according to the decision no. 15 dated 23.03.2018 of the Supervisory Council for the trading of government securities.
Beginning on 29.05.2018, Tirana Bank is the fourth member of the ALSE Securities Exchange and holds full rights together with Credins Bank, the US Investment Bank and the International Trading Bank.
ALSE’s goal is to create a capital market in Albania, which is still struggling to modernize a quarter of a century after a particularly insular style of communism ended.
ALSE was founded by Tirana-headquartered Credins Bank and American Bank of Investment (ABI Bank) with 42.5% shareholding interest each and AK Invest, one of the biggest non-banking financial institutions in Albania, with 15%.
Credins Bank and ABI Bank hold 0.13% and 2.85% of the total assets of Albania’s banking system, respectively.
