Tourism schools essential in improving Albania’s offer quality: ATA’s Mehmeti
Albania has continuously been considered by foreign media for its numerous natural beauties, and yet it remains a market that is sold cheaply compared to the countries of the region.
In an interview for SCAN television, the head of the Albanian tourism association Enver Mehmeti stressed that in order to improve its performance this market needs sustainability, knowledge and market orientation.
Mehmeti underlined the importance of increasing the quality of service to make this sector more competitive with the region, highlighting the need for the implementation of tourism schools in Albania.
“It is a market that is sold extremely cheaply. It is certainly our obligation to increase the quality of service, our market is ultimately the cheapest in the region if we compare with the Greek market. I see a growing trend in the Albanian market, and this must be a tremendous job for all of us, to supply this industry market with all the necessary elements, starting from receptionists, waiters, managers, and for that there are education schools, so that we can be competitive with other countries. ”
According to the head of ATA, there are still many unused resources in the country which through the implementation of incentive policies offer a range of opportunities for this sector to develop.
Currently, Albania, according to official statistics, offers 65 thousand beds for accommodation.
