Transavia starts Amsterdam-Tirana low cost flights
As it was announced some weeks ago, in a press conference in Tirana held by Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati and his Dutch counterpart Bert Koenders, direct flights from the Netherlands to Tirana were launched on Wednesday.
The news was given by the Dutch Embassy in Tirana in its Facebook page, stating “First direct flight from Amsterdam to Tirana, welcome Transavia!”
“Let’s celebrate! The first direct flight from Amsterdam to Tirana by Transavia just landed,” stated the embassy in another Facebook status.
“Direct affordable flights will lead to more business, study and tourism. Visiting a country ables you to get to know it and make friends.” said Ambassador Dewi van de Weerd.
The Embassy then asked: “Did you know that tourism is the biggest growth sector in the world? Stay tuned to find out more about the embassy’s support to promote sustainable tourism between Albania and the Netherlands.”
Meanwhile, Minister Bushati during the conference held on April 17 with his counterpart said: “Starting from May 10, the company Transavia will fly three times a week from Amsterdam to Tirana at a low cost. During the conversation, I had the opportunity to assure Minister Koenders for the commitment of the Albanian government to continue reforms, for the rule of law and the law in the economy for an attractive environment for foreign investors,” Bushati said.
On his part, Minister Koenders said: “We are the second most powerful investor in Albania. We will do more in the field of clothing and fashion, as we have done in the field of agriculture. As Minister Bushati noted, next month a company will fly from Amsterdam to Tirana,” stated Koenders on April 17.
