UN projects Albanian economic growth at 3.8% for 2017, 2018, while prices will increase
A report published by the United Nations projects that the Albanian economy will grow at a rate of 3.8% this year and at the same rate next year.
The UN’s recent projections suggest a slowdown in economic growth of 3.7% for 2019.
These projections are slightly under those of the European Commission and the Albanian government.
The latter speaks with conviction for an increase of approximately 4%, and even beyond the 5% rate in the medium term.
The projections and the outlook for the global economy for 2018 show that Albania together with Montenegro will be the two fastest growing economies over the next year, and in 2019 it turns out that Albania will be the fastest in the region.
As far as inflation is concerned, UN projections are in line with those of other international institutions for a significant increase in consumer prices next year, at 2.7%.
If it is not accompanied by an increase in salaries, then less money will be in the pockets of Albanians next year.
