Vaccination progress for COVID-19 – MoH: 725 135 injections were performed, 34.4% received both doses
As of May 25 in our country 725 135 doses of vaccine for COVID-19 have been administered, while 249 898 or about 34.4% of them have received both doses of vaccine. The data are made public by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, noting that vaccination is being carried out with a combined calendar for persons over 60 years of age and employees of critical services. Compared to 10 days ago, what is noticed is a slight increase of persons who have received both doses, since by May 14, they had received both doses of 30% of the vaccine.
In recent days, our country has faced a decline in the rate of vaccination due to vaccine shortages, mainly Coronavac, with which the majority of the population has been vaccinated. This led to a postponement of the day scheduled for the second dose, while according to experts from the Institute of Public Health, this was not a problem, as according to them the postponement of the vaccination interval, at least for the Pfizer vaccine, promotes the increase of the peak production of antibodies in the elderly.
Meanwhile, on May 23, 60 thousand doses of Chinese vaccine arrived in our country, which is reflected in the increase in the number of vaccinations. According to the Ministry of Health, 8,519 vaccinations were performed in the last 24 hours.
