Visho Ajazi Lika resigns as Security Services head, Helidon Bendo named as successor
The Head of State Intelligence Service Visho Ajazi Lika has resigned from his office on Friday.
Visho Ajazi Lika has been in charge of the institution since his appointment in August 2012.
The reasons for the departure are still unclear, but it is assumed that his resignation came after the government’s pressure on the investigation and SHISH’s reports on drug trafficking in the country.
Following the resignation of the head of SHISH, Prime Minister Rama and President Ilir Meta held a meeting in the Presidency, the first among the two leaders.
After this meeting, it is understood that the name proposed to head SHISH, Helidon Bendo, the current deputy director of this institution
Visho Ajazi Lika was born on March 12, 1956, in Shkodra.
During his career Lika has worked for a long time as a public employee, public administrator, academic, software engineer and IT manager.
