Vlora to host Albania’s second airport: PM Rama presents project
Vlora will have a new airport, and its construction site is expected to open in June.
The news has been announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama through a post on his Facebook profile.
“We have the official demand for the huge investment in Vlora’s new national airport. By June the construction site will be opened.”
The engagement of the group that has built Istanbul’s third airport has now become official for the construction of a regional airport in the coastal city of Vlora.
The latter will be not only for travelers but also for cargo.
This project is expected to have an effect not only in employment but also on the economy of the country.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Rama has stated that this airport will increase competition and will lower prices.
Meanwhile, according to a press release of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the airport is expected to be built in the area of Akernia.
The offer was submitted by a consortium of three serious companies, which are: Cengiz Construction, Kalyon Construction and Kolin Construction
Soon a special group with representatives from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Finance will be established, which will review the technical aspects of the proposal and pursue further steps in accordance with the law.
The investment will be private, so no money from the state budget will be spent
