WB: Albanians top list of savings in the Western Balkans
A study that the World Bank has published recently shows that Albanians are the biggest savers in the region, at least among the six Western Balkan countries.
The study divides savers into two groups, 60% richer and 40% poorer.
In the first group, illustrated with bright colors in the accompanying chart, Albanians are undisputed in the first place in the region, with a world-wide saving rate of 27%.
As is apparent from the chart, among the countries in the region, only Macedonia can approach Albanians in this regard, with a saving of around 25%.
Regarding the 40% poorer, Albanians are again in the first place, but share this position with the poorest nationals of Macedonia.
As for the poorer Albanians and Macedonians, the saving rate is fixed at about 16%.
In both groups, the neighbors have a stressed difference with the first two places. Montenegrin citizens are the least in the region for saving, with the richest and the poorest, with a saving rate of 12% and 7% respectively.
Kosovo Albanians, on the other hand, are fourth in this ranking.
