What does Albania import from Russia? – Cereals top list
Over the past 12 months, Albania imported from Russia goods worth ALL 12.5 billion, which translates to around 96 million euros.
Otherwise, the situation with the Albanian exports to Russia is minimal, at only 95 million leks or around 730 thousand euros.
The latest data referring to February this year show that compared to the same period of the previous year, Albania’s imports from Russia have more than doubled.
But what are the products that dominate the import list?
Cereals hold the first place, with a value of ALL 4.2 billion over the last 12 months, or 33.6% of the total.
Despite a “diplomatic” stalemate, it seems that dependence on Russian grains continues to be a matter that goes beyond the just statistical.
In February, meanwhile, cereal imports were 4-fold compared to the same period of the previous year.
In total, Albania imported over the last year from all countries around the world 9.5 billion ALL of cereals, which means that Russia accounts for 44.2% of the total in monetary value and 48.9% in volume terms, covering practically half of the imports of grain in our country.
Following cereals, comes the category of mineral fuels and mineral oils, with 2.88 billion ALL in the last 12 months.
Third in the list we find oils and fats at 1.5 billion Lek.
