When do Albanians save more money? – In August and December, while spring brings less money “aside”
The monthly deposit growth rate is the most reliable indicator of savings. “Scan” has analyzed the figures of the Bank of Albania since 2007 to understand exactly the approach of Albanians to saving. From the analysis and detailed processing of the data of the Bank of Albania, regarding the total deposits in the domestic banking system, both in lek and in foreign currency, emerge very interesting data regarding the period of the year when Albanians save more or even less.
The data show that August turns out to be the one with the highest monthly deposit growth, while December also turns out to have high growth rates. These two months coincide not coincidentally with the period of return of emigrants to the homeland, when remittances are consequently higher. Regarding the months when savings seem to be lower, the period March-April-May-June seems to be the one with the highest frequency among the months with the largest decline in Albanian deposits in the banking system.
