2 billion ALL for the purchase of anticovid vaccines – Budget changes, Denaj: We will buy 2.2 million doses
The Assembly has approved the Normative Act for the change of the budget, which provides for the increase of the reserve fund with a value of 2 billion ALL, which will be used for the purchase of anticovid vaccines. During her speech in the Assembly, the Minister of Finance and Economy, Anila Denaj said that this fund will be used to purchase 2.2 million doses of vaccine, which together with the doses provided so far are enough to vaccinate with both doses of 2.2 mln Albanians.
Meanwhile, in parallel with the changes in the budget, 2 normative acts were approved, which according to the Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu aim at providing a larger number of doses of the Chinese Coronvac vaccine.
Manastirliu said that the arrival of other vaccines is expected, based on direct agreements that the Albanian state has concluded with Pfizer, Sputnik V and the Turkish distributor of Sinovac, as well as through the COVAX mechanism and the mechanism that will be applied by the European Union for the Western Balkans.
