30 companies to undergo procedure of forced collection of debts

Tirana Customs has launched the procedures of forced collection of debts for about 30 companies.

Through an application filed with the National Registration Center, the Customs Administration has requested the notification of the start of this procedure, since they have already exhausted all other ways of collecting debts.

Most of the debts were created by these companies in 2016, while many of them also face penalties for late payment interests in significant figures.

What is noticed in the announcement published by the customs administration is that fines range from ALL 100 thousand to 2.3 million.

A good part of the debt consists of penalties and late payment interests, which in a good number of cases reach the level of ALL 1 million.

While there is no lack of severe penalties, considering that one of debtor companies has a debt of ALL 11 million of this nature.

According to Article 280 of the Customs Code on the mandatory debt collection, decisions taken by the administration to forcibly collect the debt become executive titles as soon as the debtor is notified.

The Code also provides that the execution of these titles can be done by structures operating in the framework of the customs administration.
