379 EU and international business standards adopted in Albania in 2017: GDS

The General Directory of Standardization has announced that 379 Albanian Standards and Albanian standards and standardization documents were adopted in February and March.
Of the total, the largest share, 313, is held by European standards issued by the European Committee for Standardization, while 66 others are internationally recognized standards, such as ISO and IEC.
All these standards are now ready for adoption by interested businesses who want to increase the value of their products.
The process for obtaining a new standard is simple and it involves applying online at the General Directory of Standardization or buying online the standard for which business are interested.
In parallel with the adoption of new standards, the period from January to March also saw an implementation of procedures to abolish old standards.
In total, 126 standards and 6 standardization documents were repealed.
The lack of information, has led Albanian businesses to have shortcomings in standards resulting in a less competitive assessment of products or services they offer.
