50 state-owned facilities offered for privatization

The Ministry of Economic Development has drafted the fourth privatization package with 50 facilities of former state-owned enterprises that are declared bankrupted.

The facilities extend all over the country, but most of them belong to institutions such as the Ministry of Transport, the District of Elbasan, the Ministry of Environment and the Department of State Reserves.

The Ministry of Economic Development Department has drafted three previous lists with respectively 60 and 40 facilities which have already been presented to the Ministry of Finance.

The request for the privatization of a state asset may be addressed to the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade, Tourism and Entrepreneurship or to the relevant institution that has in the administration/ownership the facility in question, which can be privatized by the landowner or any other person/institution interested in purchasing the asset.

The request must contain the exact designation of the requesting institution, the exact designation of the object and the location of the object it intends to privatize.

If the applicant is a landowner, the above request must also be accompanied by the relevant decision of the commission of property restitution and compensation, through which the person or heirs have the right of pre-emption of the facility in question.

According to official data from the Ministry of Finance, the proceeds of privatization this year in the state budget are 4 million ALL.
