Albania saw 32 thousand new businesses in 2016: National Business Center
Any official or entrepreneurial roundtable is currently discussing how to create a favorable climate for businesses in Albania. Based on official statistics in 2016 at the National Business Center, 32.478 businesses have been registered during the year.
These figures were published by the Minister of Finance, according to whom, these are the official records of the National Business Center.
According to the same statistics, referring to ownership of these businesses, it turns out that from these new businesses, about 30.867 businesses are Albanian, 1247 are foreign, 301 businesses have a combined domestic and foreign ownership, while 63 businesses were included in the category others.
Although the number of businesses that are opened is high, there is also a high demand for closing businesses.
The action against informality has had an impact on this process, and many businesses that owe arrears to the tax administration, have applied to be closed, while there is a possibility that they will be opened with other names.
Meanwhile, the National Business Center began providing services in a concise manner since April, reducing red tape and business costs, and not dividend as they are provided by the National Center of Registration and the National Center of Licensing.
Businesses now have a single center, dedicated to registering, as well as to permits and licenses.
