Albania’s economy may have slowed down: BoA’s Governor Sejko
The Albanian economy may have slowed down in the second quarter of this year, due to the uncertainties that were created as a result of the tense political situation.
In his periodical media appearance, the Governor of the Bank of Albania Gent Sejko also warned of the negative effects that can be transmitted in the economy due to the drought that has swept the country in recent weeks.
In terms of monetary policy, Sejko reiterated that the measures continued to transmit some positive effects on the economy, mainly through the reduction of financing costs.
At the end of its regular meeting, the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania decided to keep the interest rate unchanged at the record low of 1.25%.
