ALSE Balance: In the period February-December, trading value was ALL 2.57 billion

The Albanian Stock Exchange, ALSE, has published the annual report for 2018, in the first year of its operation. During this period, due to the embryonic stage of market development in the country, the Albanian Stock Exchange traded 2 days a week, Tuesday and Thursday, while trading of government securities began on February 22, 2018.

Only 2 official trading days per week have been set as the current level of market development is in the initial stages and trading volumes are modest.  During February-December 2018, the trading value in the Albanian Stock Exchange reached ALL 2.57 billion, or about EUR 20.8 million, with a volume of more than 106,700 trading units traded and a total of 127 transactions.

During this period, transactions between banks, Transactions in Official Tables, Transactions in Treasury Bonds and Transactions in Lek prevailed. Much of the number of transactions carried out during the first year of operation are transactions in the retail market that are performed between the bank and the clients or between the clients.

Meanwhile, as a number of transactions, more transactions are performed by banks with customers or customers with each other, accounting for 63% of the total.  SCAN
