Bank of Albania and European Central Bank sign agreement on prevention and protection of euro banknotes from counterfeiting

The Bank of Albania and the European Central Bank sign a cooperation agreement for the exchange of information in the field of protection of the euro banknote from counterfeiting.

This agreement aims to regulate and facilitate the procedures of cooperation between the two central authorities in the field of protection against counterfeiting of euro banknotes in the territory of our country. The agreement standardizes the technical information in order to strengthen the technical capacities for monitoring and preventing the counterfeiting of euro banknotes in Albania. Meanwhile, the European Central Bank will provide information with specifications and data obtained from the technical analysis of counterfeit euro banknotes, discovered in Europe and beyond.
