Confidence in the economy improves – TNE increases by 1.6 points

The Economic Sensitivity Index (ECI) for June increased by 1.6 points compared to May, according to the latest data from the Bank of Albania. The institution underlines that, TNE continued the improving trend for the seventh consecutive month. The current level of the indicator reached 105.7, standing 5.7 points above the long-term average. “The positive dynamics of TNE in June was mainly determined by the increase in confidence in the services and trade sectors. Also, consumer confidence improved but to a lesser extent.
On the other hand, confidence in the industrial sector declined, while confidence in the construction sector remained at a level close to last month’s values, ”explains the Bank of Albania. Thus, in terms of the consumer confidence indicator, it increased by 0.4 percentage points compared to the previous month, driven mainly by expectations for the future economic situation and expectations for their financial situation. The component of current large purchases, meanwhile, is declining compared to May, the data show.
The indicator of trust in services, meanwhile, is the one that records the largest monthly increase, with 4.1 percentage points. It is followed by that of trade confidence, increasing by 2.1 percentage points. Regarding the confidence indicator in industry, there is a decrease of 2.1%, while that of confidence in construction is at the same levels as in May.
