Firefighting efforts costing Albania some ALL 30 mln per month: Ministry of Defense

Fires caused as a result of high temperatures in Albania have cost the Ministry of Defense around ALL 30 million in the last month.

In a statement to the media, Defense Minister Mimi Kodheli said that so far 102 operations were carried out by the Armed Forces to extinguish the fireplaces all over the country.

High temperatures and lack of rains are expected to continue until September 15 although a few days ago it was said that the country would experience a drop in temperatures of about 5 degrees.

Under these conditions, Civil Emergencies and all relevant institutions are in full readiness to cope with the fires throughout the country
