Employee complaints reach a new record from the COVID-19 situation/ Only in March-April, 50% of 2019 Complaints

In the two months since the declaration of the state of emergency in our country as a result of COVID-19, a record number of complaints have been registered by the employees at the State Labor Inspectorate. Official sources close to this institution, inform SCAN TV, that only during the period March-April were registered 50 percent of the total of all complaints that resulted in 2019.

Thus, in total, 440 complaints have been filed with this institution, which are directly related to employment relations. Many of them are related to unfair dismissals, denunciations of non-payment of social and health insurance.

During this period, due to the measures taken by the government against COVID-19, where most businesses were closed, employers were forced to make staff cuts, which has caused dissatisfaction among employees. Meanwhile, a significant number of them have apparently responded to the Prime Minister’s appeal to denounce employers for informality at work, in order to be able to benefit from the war salary.
