IPARD II triggers 95 mln euro investments in Albania’s agriculture
The investment made in rural areas from IPARD Project will be at the level of 95 million euro.
71 million euro are funded by the European Commission and 24 million euro will be offered in grants awarded by the Albanian government.
The second monitoring meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture was also attended by European Commission representatives, the head of IPARD project as well as members of the Monitoring Committee.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Roni Telegrafi said that the project aims to develop agriculture in rural areas and increase the competitiveness of agricultural products and agro-food.
“This committee is considered a very important step for the beginning of implementation of the program, as one of the main instruments of the agricultural sector and rural development in the European integration path, through increasing agricultural competitiveness of agro-food, as well as sustainable development of rural areas,” Telegrafi said.
IPARD II program was approved by the European Commission in July 2015.
The Sectorial Agreement for the implementation of this program has been ratified by the Albanian Parliament and its implementation will begin in 2017.
Supporting measures of this program consist in investments in physical assets of agricultural farms; investments in physical assets for processing and marketing of agricultural and fishery products; diversification of farms and business development; technical assistance; advisory services; implementation of local development strategies; implementation of local development strategies; etc…
