Italian businesses demand extended facilities at customs points

Accelerating and simplifying customs procedures for various commodities, reducing the physical and documentation costs, as well as the removal of the reference price.

These issues were discussed during an informational meeting between Confindustria Albania and representatives of the General Directory of Customs.

According to the President of this organization, Donato D’Agostino, there is a greater cooperation with customs services, and in order to simplify procedures and eliminate problems joint technical committees could be established.

While the Vice Director of Customs Mirela Meko stressed that the coming into force of the provisions of the new Customs Code will result in greater facilitating procedures for business.

Two months ago the General Directory of Customs signed a protocol of cooperation with Confindustria Albania, with a view to facilitating and supporting the activity of foreign companies, especially Italian ones, in the country.

According to the protocol, simplified customs has facilitated the administrative operations of the enterprises at customs points.
