New Albanian airline will start flights by year’s end: PM Rama with Turkish Airlines CEO

Prime Minister Edi Rama in a meeting with Turkish Airlines CEO said that a new Albanian airline, with the country’s flag and with the same services as Turkish Airlines, is becoming a reality.
“A new airline has been launched thanks to the support of Turkish President Erdogan and the technical assistance of Turkish Arirlines. We are aware that the quality of air transport for Albanians who move abroad and return home leaves much to be desired.
I am not talking about large companies operating in Albania, but about the service given to people, with a quality and cost ticket that leaves much to be desired. Our objective has been to establish an Albanian airline. I am grateful to the President of Turkey but also to the Turkish Airlines executives who are giving us a precious help, and we are close to finalizing a deal.
“We are hopeful that the first flights will start this year. I do not want to talk about dates and deadlines, but the assistance will extend to the spectrum of all services for the new Albanian company,” Rama said.
On his part, the CEO of Turkish Airlines, Ilker Ayci said that “President Erdogan and Prime Minister Rama discussed cooperation in the civil aviation sector. We are preparing now the feasibility of the project. We will increase the quality of the service, in airports and on airplanes. We will support travelers in the destinations where they will travel. We are ready to give maximum support to the Albanian people.”
