Prolonged political crisis is slated to damage Albania’s economic performance: BoA’s Governor
Any prolongation and escalation of political tensions in Albania will have its impact in the performance of the economy.
Asked by the media after reporting to the Parliamentary Commission of Economy, the Governor of the Bank of Albania Gent Sejko said that political tension conveys uncertainty in economy and may hamper business investment projects.
However, according to the Bank of Albania, until now the political crisis has been reflected niether in key macroeconomic indicators nor in current business confidence surveys.
For the first quarter of the year, the economic mood indicator increased once again.
However, the deepening of the crisis in recent weeks and uncertainty about what might happen in the near future could have a significant negative impact on the performance of the economy in 2017.
