Third stage of gov’t’s action against informality due to start on October 1
Minister of Finance and Economy Arben Ahmetaj announced that the government will start a new wave of the action against informality.
In his speech, Minister Ahmetaj emphasized that this action will start from 1 October 2017.
“From 1 October 2017, we start the action on the ground. This is the mandate of anti-informality. We will have a coordination of all structures, including taxation, customs and labor inspectorate. Along with the action against informality, we are going to undertake another important reform, namely that of facilitating services and reducing bureaucracy for entrepreneurship and citizens,” Ahmetaj said.
The informality in the Albanian economy is estimated at about 40 percent, which is why the government “Rama 1” initiated the action on this phenomenon.
The first phase focused on issuing the tax receipt, the second phase in formalizing businesses, while the third phase that has just started is expected to consist in controls on businesses.
