4% of businesses go to passive in last semester of 2017
Although there is a lot of talk about easing procedures and creating a favorable climate for entrepreneurship, it seems that the situation on the ground is not on the same footing.
Sources from the Ministry of Finance confirmed to TV SCAN that for the period January-March 2017, 4% of businesses across the country have changed their tax liability going to passive, or have applied for deregistration.
According to this data, districts which have the largest number of businesses that have changed tax liability are Vlora and Korca on 17% to 15% respectively.
Then come the districts of Berat with 7%, Fieri, 6%, Gjirokastra, 5%, Tirana, 4%, Elbasan and Durres both at 2%.
But based on the official statistics, 32 478 new businesses registered at the National Business Center in 2016.
An analysis of the data shows that although the number of requests for closing activities is considerable, yet the number of businesses that open anew is high.
Thus, the action against informality has given an effect on this process, where many businesses which had arrears of the tax administration have made a request to shut down, while there is a possibility that they opened under other names.
