725 businesses blocked by municipal police in 24 administrative units
The Municipal Police has undertaken about 725 blocking orders against businesses in 24 administrative units of the country.
709 of them have been undertaken because these subjects have not paid the local taxes, which is a legal obligation for them to function as a business.
16 of them were caught in complete informality since they were not registered as subjects at the National Business Center.
This figure shows that for the anti-informal actions taken by the central government, but also the Municipality of Tirana, the number of subjects that are avoiding obligations or operating in informality continues to be a concern.
Among the problematic subjects were operating in “retail” and services.
Businesses that have paid or which have registered have returned to the market again.
While the number of new major businesses opened during 2017 is 6274, of which 5881 are small businesses and 355 are large businesses, while the rest are included in the category “other”.
While there are about 1620 new secondary subjects that have opened during last year.
