Albania is a ‘safe place’ – Improvement with 6 positions in the global terrorism index 2018
Albania is ranked 97th in the world, among 139 countries in the global terrorist 2018 index, in a ranking where the first country has the highest risk of terrorism and the last country the lowest risk. This index this year translates to an improvement of 6 places in the overall classification. Regarding the region in the meantime, only Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina have a worse ranking than our country.
As the map clearly shows, the Balkan region is one of the least problematic places in Europe, given the situation in other European countries, especially in the European Union or Turkey. Albania thus collects only 1 point out of 10 in the global terrorist index, where the highest scores are also higher risk.
At a global level in the meantime, it turns out that Iraq is the most problematic country in terms of terrorism while Turkmenistan is the opposite. The danger of terrorism over recent years has become a very important element in terms of tourism.
