Albania: Tourism in museums and archaeological parks increases by 73% in the second quarter
Increasing number of foreign visitors to Albania has also increased interest in the cultural heritage of the country as well. This is also noted by the number of visits to museums, forts and archaeological parks.
During the second quarter of this year the number of visitors to these countries raised by 73%. So, there were almost 136k more tourists than in the second quarter of last year.
Compared to this period, the number of tourists who have frequented museums has increased by 48 thousand, or 85 percent more.
Also, the number of tourists who visited forts or other cultural monuments has increased with 39k, which is 68% more. An increase of 47k visitors is also noted in archaeological parks.
Museums have the largest number of visitors in this group.
We can’t say the same about the attendance of the National Library. During the second quarter of this year the number of attenders in the National Library has dropped by 37%.
The number of new publications has fallen by 45% compared to the second quarter of 2017.
