ALSE a novel, important way for funding businesses: Expert Beqiri
Following a difficult period for entrepreneurs to find funding sources, the opening of the first Albanian Securities Exchange is seen with optimism.
Economy expert Irena Beqiri said in an interview for TV SCAN that the capital market development, where businesses will refer to investment funds, will increase competition in the market.
According to her, the development of the secondary market, in addition to the primary one, will have a positive impact on the Albanian economy in general.
“The time has come to explore other innovative products, other brokerage markets where businesses can find the financial resources they need. This will be very good for the banks, and will move them from this lethargic sleep they are in. And it will create greater competition in the market for fund providers. The securities exchange that has been established is an extremely positive news for the Albanian economy. I hope it will be firmly supported, not only by the FSA, the Bank of Albania, but also from the system as a whole, and by the government as well, because it is a new, innovative and very important way for the business to find funding,” Beqiri said.
Within the first months of this year, Albania’s first private bourse is expected to become effective.
The Financial Supervisory Authority licensed ALSE in July.
It is seen as a very important development for the Albanian financial market, as it enables businesses to raise capital by attracting new shareholders.
On the other hand, investors will have the opportunity to invest in a regulated market that offers complete confidence and transparency.
