Beneficiaries of social services increase – Over 3600 more individuals were paid in Tirana in the last 6 months

The number of individuals receiving social services in the capital has increased significantly in the first half of this year. According to the official data of the Municipality of Tirana, processed by TV SCAN, for the period January-June 2020, 29,201 individuals have benefited from social services, or 3619 individuals more than the same period of a year ago.

In total, there are 26 categories that receive services from the Municipality of Tirana, according to the specifics they have, which include children at risk or orphans, young people at risk, women heads of households, abused or victims of trafficking, Roma, Egyptian families, individuals with disabilities limited, families in economic difficulties, the elderly in care institutions, etc. What can be noticed from the figures is that compared to a year ago, there is a significant increase of individuals with disabilities who are supported by funding from the Municipality with about 3200, children at risk, children in poverty or heads of households.
