How did the pandemic change the labor market of Albania? – The demand of businesses for employment fell “to the ground” in the period March-May
The COVID-19 pandemic, which is widespread in our country, in addition to increasing unemployment, has also changed the labor market in relation to the demand of businesses. According to the official data of the National Employment Service, processed by SCAN, on the official website puna.gov.al there are 159 job offers from various businesses.
What is noticed is during the months March to May, only 9 job offers are registered.
Specifically, the most sought after are salesmen, manual workers, tailors for shoes and textiles, bricklayers, plumbers, sanitary workers, drivers, aluminum workers, blacksmiths, waiters, cooks, etc. while in terms of positions that require qualification, dentists, engineers, economists, management analysts, secretaries, sales specialists, etc. are mainly required. In total, there are about 44 thousand registered employers, who have announced vacancies online.
