How should we understand the price increase? – Inflation 2% / Civici: Increasing confidence and restructuring of consumption
Despite being under the power of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, consumer prices for October have risen sharply, bringing inflation to 2 per cent from 1.5 per cent in September.
In an interview with TV SCAN, economics expert Adrian Civici explains what has happened, arguing that it is cause by the increasing confidence by easing measures and restructuring consumption by focusing on basic needs.
According to expert Adrian Civici, rising inflation would be seen as a positive sign if it were stable in the coming months although the chances are low.
According to official data from the Institute of Statistics, inflation increased by 0.5 percentage points in October, which signals a further increase in consumer prices in our country, at a time when the economy is in recession. The highest increase was in food prices, and mainly fruits and vegetables.
